Illustration Series for "The Woman and Her Bear," a play based on an Inuit Legend. Featured in the September 2021 issue of Cricket Media's "Faces" Magazine.

Sometimes a job comes along that is perfectly suited for an artist. This was the case when the art director for Cricket Media's "Faces" magazine reached out to illustrator Denise Gallagher to create a series of illustrations to accompany "The Woman and Her Bear," a play based  on an Inuit legend.

Denise shared "I have always been fascinated with myths and legends — particularly those based on animals and nature. So I thoroughly enjoyed working on this illustration series — reveling in the cool icy blue palette and the relationship between the Inuit woman and her "bear-son." In the end, I was especially thrilled when the art director responded that they were "over the moon" with the final illustrations. I, too, was over the moon with the experience!"
