FARM BEHIND THE FOOD + AMY MIKLER

January 22, 2025

Photographer Amy Mikler was kayaking in the bay near her clan’s vacation spot, when she met some local oyster farmers. Their hard work and connection to the water sparked something deeper in Amy's creative mind. That chance encounter brought to life an idea Amy had been nurturing for some time: a project that celebrates The Farm Behind The Food.

From capturing the grit and dedication of oyster farmers to the vibrant greens glowing at sunrise at Bautista Farms, Amy’s farming field trips have been an adventure filled with beauty, discovery, and storytelling.

Stay tuned for more of this inspiring passion project, where Amy’s extraordinary talent for storytelling meets her deep appreciation for the land and those who cultivate it.

When TRG Agency tapped Amy Mikler to shoot the Swensons campaign in Ohio, the ask was pretty specific. Make it feel real, but make it work. That's a harder brief than it sounds, because most photographers can do one or the other. Amy did both. The images came back warm and genuinely lived-in, the kind where you can't quite tell where the direction ended and the moment began, which is exactly the point. If you're building a campaign around real people doing real things and you need the images to actually land, that's Amy's territory.
