FLAG & ANTHEM + DARREN CARROLL

Darren Carroll Photographer and Storyteller

Flag & Anthem Apparel hired Darren to shoot pieces of their 2024 men’s line with their newest ambassador, PGA Tour winner Tom Hoge. As with just about everything involving world-class athletes in the midst of their seasons, scheduling was last-minute and time was tight—making this a perfect fit for Darren’s flexible, run-and-gun style of working.

Putting together his typical small crew (one camera assistant and a digitech) on two days’ notice, and having been given a 3-hour window to scout and then shoot at a course he’d never seen before, with talent he’d never met before, Darren was able to deliver the shots on time, on budget, and, most importantly, to the client’s satisfaction.

When TRG Agency tapped Amy Mikler to shoot the Swensons campaign in Ohio, the ask was pretty specific. Make it feel real, but make it work. That's a harder brief than it sounds, because most photographers can do one or the other. Amy did both. The images came back warm and genuinely lived-in, the kind where you can't quite tell where the direction ended and the moment began, which is exactly the point. If you're building a campaign around real people doing real things and you need the images to actually land, that's Amy's territory.
